It is the best selling laptop on Amazon, but why? Price? Performance? Build? Well.. given the best seller is just $169 I think you can guess.

  1. 3:27 thats the thing… Even my phone has specs more than twice as good… And thats barely more expensive
Even my old one had better specs, and that was almost the exact same price as that laptop

  2. I don’t appreciate the apple glaze. It’s literally 850 dollars it better outperform everything else are you kidding me?

  3. Recently just got a thinkpad e580 on eBay it was mud cheap (not the best condition either) first thing I did was test for power on and it did, then I cleaned it from the inside out and tested again, still powers on, so I got 1 T ssd, 16 GB of ram and a new keyboard from Amazon and is running pretty smoothly so far, I reinstalled Windows on the ssd and Ubuntu on the pre installed hdd.

I think it was a good investment

  4. Dunno if I agree with the first conclusion at 9:05. We have $2000 MacBooks and $2000 Dells at work. I’ve daily driven both. Mostly browsers, IDEs, remote management tools, Outlook, and spreadsheets. I never restart them until failure occurs. The Dells will have the fans screaming after a few days even during light usage, and encounter some restart-worthy failure within a month (usually Windows-related, not due to the hardware). Possibly some other tolerable failures in the meantime, like the external displays not waking up, or the webcam refusing to work. Meanwhile I’ve heard the fans on the MacBook exactly once (running a particularly strenuous unoptimized script) and it’ll go 2 months or more before I decide to mercy kill it. Battery life is twice as long on the Mac. Also, on no PC I’ve ever used since Win 10, regardless of hardware, has the Start menu opened right up on the first click– I always have to mash it before it’ll even think about opening. Taken together, there’s just no comparison. If I have $X to spend, and $X is enough to get a Mac, I’m getting the Mac.

  5. Those 2 windows laptops should just be runing Ubuntu or Mint or simply Chrome OS, because I can bet good money people buying those laptops are just downloading Chrome, and browsing web + occasional note/document making. That’s it. Windows is not needed for any of that, and it’s also making the device more expensive. Manufacturers need to start considering who’s the end user.

  6. Why not do a comparison of 200,300,400,500 as a whole? The way the video started I felt like this was gonna go down a list of computer and point out what his price range could offer.

Essentially this video is a Mac advertisement 😅.

  7. Why are we comparing a $850 Apple Laptop to $200 Windows Laptops? How about even the playing field and also get a $850 Windows Laptop and then Compare both on Equal grounds.

  8. I haven’t even seen the video fully but I’m guessing most of the buyers are just people who need it for work that don’t care about PCs outside of that

  9. If he says that you would need some patience to open up file explorer, I would be the master of patience since it takes roughly 10 seconds to open up file explorer on my old desktop loi.

  10. I love having a 14 year old business laptop with a core i7 quad core that I bought for 50 dollars, beat $300 computers in 2025.

  11. Looking for some free advice here. I’m in the market for a laptop for office oriented work (mainly word and ppt, browsing with more than 2-3 tabs at a time and some decent content consumption). I found a Refurbished Lenovo V510 14" (Core i5-7200U/8GB/256GB SSD/W10 Pro) at around 150€. I know it will get the job done but I’m also worried about longevity. Is it going to be ok for at list 2-3 years down the line?

  12. 0:25 … If you really want to spend this little money… Dont get a laptop… Either spend more money and use it for a long time, or get a used one

  13. "It’s honestly unfair to compare an $850 laptop to a $169 or $280 model just to make it look superior. Obviously, the $850 laptop will outperform the budget ones in every aspect — but using underpowered entry-level machines as a reference point feels like marketing manipulation. If you’re promoting the $850 device, compare it to laptops in the same price range or performance class. Otherwise, it comes off like you’re just flexing specs for shock value rather than offering a helpful comparison for real buyers looking at options within a budget."

  14. Don’t buy these cheap HP laptops. I have not abused my computer, it mostly sits on a table all it’s life. The hinges have broken the plastic case apart. It’s still working, but I don’t want to open and close it anymore for fear that the thing will come apart permanently.

  15. I use a Lenovo Idea Pad Slim 3. It is extremely similar to the second one you looked at (in fact, it literally uses the same chassie and has that same bend) but is a bit faster. It uses 8 gigs of ram instead of 12 (for some reason) and uses a Ryzen 3 processing core. In terms of working, it’s pretty responsive and gets the job done. But, for gaming, it can *barely* run Minecraft. Im talking:
    1. Lowest settings
    2. Has to be put on "Best Performance" in battery settings
    3. Constanly needs to be on charge, or frames will drop
    4. Frames per second need to be capped at 50, or else the computer will heat up
    5. Render distance needs to be put to 5 or 6 chunks

And even after ALL that, the best it can get to is like 60 frames MAX (if you get rid of the frame cap) with CONSTANT lag spikes when it loads in new chunks. This is why I install a bunch of optimising mods (about 80 mods) , which bumps it up massively to 120 to *160* frames.

So if you’re planning on gaming on that thing, stick to Roblox or something not as demanding 😅
(Ps. It also has internet problems for some reason. It might be just mine, but idk)

  16. I feel like people that buy the cheapest laptops are either very old and don’t care or are bad at math. A few-year-old better laptop (like a Dell Latitude with like a 5th gen processor) will get you far superior performance and will LAST LONGER for just slightly more money. Its like buying 2 $150 every 2 years vs 1 $275 laptop every 4. You’re saving money in the long run + getting a better experience the whole time by spending just a bit more upfront.

  17. For that price, people can get refurbished flagship ThinkPads from 7 years ago that still work.

  18. Tbh, i think the basic idea is flawed when u started comparing celeron processors to M3 chip 😅😂.

Windows is massive when u look at the use case and flex that it has in terms of brands, value, price segments and user base proposition it offers cutting across world. Developed world, kids can afford having a mac or ipad for school and university but a major portion of the world cannot, even people who are working sometimes cannot 😎

My personal suggestion to anyone opting for less than 300 bucks laptop would be, please look at pre owned machines which are great in that price segment and much better use case of anyone. 💯

I dont think brands need to learn anything from Apple, HP does sell elitebooks which almost all corporates use worldwide and lenovo does sell their thinkpad and yoga books in the exact same way. Its just they also need to look at lower end of conusmers and markets.
If everyone start going apple way then accessing laptop will only be limited to developed nations and rich folks in developing world and that’s not what modern tech is all about 😊

  19. Correction:
8:00 – The performance numbers for the Ideapad and the HP are swapped. The HP should be 155 and the Ideapad should be 240. We’ll get it fixed ASAP.

  20. Better hardware you can find in African burning trash mountain.
Celeron CPU in new Laptop? Really? Normies are destroying the Planet.

  21. Fun fact
I had a laptop which slower than this
And yes it died 🙂 I am laptop less now 🤡

  22. Hey guys, non computer nerd tech person here. I have a grand, looking for a laptop, I don’t want apple. Any suggestions on a decent laptop? I don’t do any gaming. Probably just YouTube vids, streaming football and basketball games, and the occasional ppt for work. I’d appreciate any help

  23. my 200$ laptop from 2010 actually has better performance then the first 2 laptops in this video by a mile lmao 😭

  24. Some people don’t have the money and buy what they can afford? Many Americans seem impressed with latest and greatest. It’s not what you have, but what you do with what you have? Someone posted here about good used laptops. Seems a good option for those on a budget?

  25. I use a macbook for work (M1 pro) and PC everywhere else and I gotta say, as far as laptops go it’s the best one I’ve ever used. I still can’t stand MacOS with its lack of customization and stupid graphic effects when you do anything and its TERRIBLE multi window and snapping support, but as far as the actual performance, audio, and feel of the thing it’s worlds above any windows laptop I’ve ever used

  26. I have multiple gaming PCs , I got that exact cheap little HP laptop ($140) in particular to be a writing laptop because it has a great keyboard and if my laptop is powerful enough to game on I’ll end up gaming and it’ll be a distraction. This shitty little computer keeps me from being distracted because I literally can’t download shit on it 😂😂 Also it’s super light!

  27. Just by an old thinkpad if you need a laptop for watching yt and docs. it is much cheaper and you can uograde it. it will also last you far longer

  28. I actually own the Lenovo ideapad1i i got it back in 2023 with my Christmas money mine actually differs from the one you guys show cased as i used Walmart to order it. Mine has a Pentium n5030 with UHD 605 integrated graphics, Wifi 6, all the same io ports but a definitely significantly better storage option with a 128gb ssd installed and then a extra m.2 slot that i installed a 25 dollar 512gb ssd on. Now on the contrast I have to say I hate this laptop for most things now but with some modifications such as windows optimizers like winutil and stuff like that you can make this thing run low end games. I was even able to manage to get minecraft java to run by using a community made launcher that centers itself on optimization and performance of the game other games I got run decently enough were gmod and omori. Now videos became a issue prior to me messing my windows 11 install up but i installed a new windows download on it and it runs better. you can also use things like wallpaper engine on steam and low settings and will work now from my purchase I had to mention i was forced into windows 11 safe mode which was simple enough to back out. Plus the laptop was fairly cheaper and better then the amazon one that was listed in this video and used in this video. Now do i recommend getting this thing. No not really unless you dont mind low performance and having to go through modding windows and proably installing another ssd in the extra m.2 slot. not to mention the frame being plastic which in my years with have no seen its fair share of wear including cracks near the power button above the usb a port and above the charging port and the bezzle and side frame being cracked open and damaged not to mention all the clawing from my dogs claws on it when i would sit it on my livingroom couch which i dont suggest doing
