  1. I got a good deal on a used case that came with 3 fans and a 650w power supply (still had the og box and cables), on fb marketplace for $150. The case was an NZXT s340, power supply was an EVGA 650w, and the fans were Artic white fans. I think the kid was just getting rid of them cuz he upgraded. I only wanted the case, so I gave the power supply to a friend who needed it, along with the fans. Basically, the fans and PSU were almost free.

  2. Les diamants c’est plus rare du tout j’ai fait 30 block de diamant en quelques heures sans fortune, bref c’est asser abusé

  3. power supply should never be bought second hand.
same with anything related to power. it doesn’t take an engineer to figure this stuff out.

  4. I was looking for a new corsair case and thought I should check fb. There was the exact case I was looking for (brand new, slightly dusty) and he gave it to me for like $20 off msrp and even gave me an extra rgb controller

  5. I generally agree until you get to high end, I don’t trust anyone selling a high end gpu used, especially after the covid era fiascos, im a little less stringent on cpus as many companies need ultra high end cpus and won’t always ruin them, and mobo’s i buy new when i get the chance just to future proof and get the newest stuff, unless the pc is mid range, then idrc about the mobo and will buy used lol

  6. For you 10usd is nothing for other is the difference between eating or not eating that month. Is all about perspective

  7. Buying a used case is only really worth it through something like Facebook marketplace where you can pick it up and avoid shipping.

  8. I would not recommend buying SSDs used as they have a limited number of times they can be written on and you never know how many times they have been written on and deleted. Also used cases make sense if you can get them locally and not have to pay for shipping.

  9. If you know how to use eBay buying used computer parts is not an issue and there’s nothing wrong with a used to power supply.

  10. Hey man i am on a really limited budget can you suggest a 100$ build……never had a gaming pc….. As a reference i am using a i5 second gen laptop for 7 years now……goal is to be able to play hogwarts legacy……but will settle down for gta5 too

  11. 7950x, 32gb DDR5 6000, RTX 3090, and 5 various SSD’s all secondhand from FB marketplace and reddit. I’ve bought secondhand all the time, and have never had an issue. Even got a GTX 980ti off ebay in 2018 that I ended up finding coffee goop on when I went to clean it, and that thing still gets suffocated daily in a z420 workstation.

  12. Some thoughts from someone who always buys used, if feasible (for sustainability reasons):
New does NOT equal good. And there are two statistical quirks that work heavily in your favor.
    1. There is value in time spent looking for the right product. This is value you often get for free as a buyer of used goods. Granted, the seller could be a Dingus, but most people pay at least some attention to what they throw their money at.
    2. Survivorship bias: Crap usually falls apart before you can resell it. If it doesn’t, it will likely already look heavily used or have lost some functionality. Definitely ask for a demonstration.
Bad sellers and mishandled product are also usually easy to recognise, if you know what to look for.
Plus: Sometimes people sell stuff for cheap, because they don’t know there is an easy fix for obvious issues. A PC with good components that won’t turn on is likely to just have ONE point of failure and it’s reasonably likely to be stuff like the SSD or memory, which are easily replaceable.

  13. Even refurbished is sketchy. Worst GPU I’ve ever had was refurbished by Newegg and holy Spaceballs it had/still has a ton of issues. Like the backplate is forever banana shapped

  14. I feel like only used gpu should be good cuz cpu and motherboards can have bend pins but this is just my though

  15. I bought a Case for 50$ and i also went to him to get it by my self. No shipping and no extra money.

  16. I got a Corsair case for like £10, all I had to do is take a 10 minute drive to pick it up.

  17. i got a rx6600 for 100€, the only price / performance that i can upgrade to is the rx9060xt 16gb, cant find anything else that can compare

  18. What gpu should I buy for my next build I mostly play games like Fortnite and Roblox I think I should go with the used 1080ti but can u recommend me a gou that isn’t used and also recommend me a good cpu that fits in with the build

  19. I’ve noticed on Ebay many people want more for PC components than they did when new.

  20. If you already have a functioning PC and want to build a second one to use as a server or something, i think it is fine buying used parts too get the price down .I would probably never buy a used PSU though, that`s a big no, no too me.

  21. get the sillicon chip based IC items used ( not SSD or ram ) is usually the golden rule

  22. Of course there’s exceptions with the crazy deals. But I would still never recommend buying a used PSU no matter how good the price is.

  23. If the psu ran for 3 years and isn’t faulty than it is not a problem. Cases are especially not needed to be new. I bought myself a gaming case from 2007. A full atx tower and it meets all my needs

  24. i was thinking about getting an used CPU for a work station. I found an used one for half the price of a new one. I was thinking that it will be a bad idea, but everybody said that used CPU is a save purchase, specially since the CPU is a normal CPU not one that support overclock. So I will buy it.

  25. HDDs are pretty nice to buy used aswell, you can often get high quality drives for cheap from companies upgrading/moving to the cloud

  26. That listing for the NZXT H6 Flow is definitely not an H6 Flow…more like an H510 hot box…I have both lol

  27. The biggest risk with a used case is stowaways. Cockroaches and bed bugs may be hidden within one

  28. Me personally, I NEVER buy used shit. Even if it’s like 1 week old. I just don’t like the fact something I bought was already used before. I don’t care if it’s more expensive, I’m not in a position where I need to buy used PC parts in order to build/upgrade my pc. I can just save up more money and get fresh out of the box pc parts.

  29. i think i might be spied on but anyway, I’ve ordered a used mobo from a local store, and it had broken usb 3.0 port, bricked bios and audio issues, aside from being a completely wrong model.
price difference was 10 usd and warranty for brand new is 24mo, not the 3mo lol.

  30. Ram I actually got a massive deal on some trident z5 ram 6400Mhz, got 2 sticks of 16gb each off of marketplace for 60 when retail is 120

  31. People change so much for there used products. Craziest one was 60 dollar ram used for a year. But the price on Amazon for the same ram was 40.

  32. Ram, and nvme are also almost half the price of new or even less what are you talking about..

  33. Nah you need to pipe down on this I only spent 420 for my rtx 3060 12gb and R7 5700g and 16gb ddr4 ram and a 600w psu from Thermaltake and I added 4.5tb two of which is hdd
