  1. This vid was done 4 months ago so if he is thinking Bally Sports makes Direct TV strong for regional sports then think again. Ballys is going down the crapper and sports teams are getting alternative channels/streaming apps to broadcast their games.

  2. I tried YTTV and couldn’t read the Live GUIDE, 9′ from a 55" Samsung. And the guide isn’t resizable, and the screen rez is fixed. Can you or anyone suggest a better live guide service for old eyes?

  3. All streaming services are way over priced yet people continue to subscribe to their services which tells me you people are brainwashed and ignorant besides wealthy. I only have YouTube premium and a cheap antenna to watch local news mostly weather. I cut the cord of all services. But heyyou pay for what you can afford to buy, it’s up to you

  4. YouTube is nice, but now their price is as high as Hulu live — which includes Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, unlimited DVR
YouTube TV is pricing itself out of the competition imo

  5. I had Directv satellite service for 24 years. I had to get my roof replaced so the roofers took down the dish. They placed it where they thought it was. I called Directv to get it dialed back to the satellite. They wanted me to pay for the service. I told them I had been a customer that had paid for their premium service for 24 years. She said no. I told her the dish was useless without being pointed. I reminded her of all the streaming services and to cancel. I get please comeback letters almost daily.

  6. My 92 yo mother has Ziply Fiber TV. It is going up another $25. Making it over $350! Is there another live tv with basic stations that uses a remote to change channels? Without using a menu? She just can’t handle streaming. Suggestions

  7. I personally don’t understand how you compare DIRECTV stream and YouTube tv and come away with YouTube tv. I tried YouTube for about 2 months it’s not bad a little cheaper than DIRECTV stream but it lacks the picture quality and the RSNs, and frankly the ability to manage the DVR in DIRECTV stream is so much better. I have the choice plan have had for over 8 months now and I love it. Until something better comes along for me it’s the best choice if you are a sports guy besides I have the Disney bundle through my mobile phone service Verizon, I get Netflix/Max and the Disney bundle+ Hulu for and extra $20 bucks which I can drop any time. Still cheaper than Xfinity by quite a bit no contract and the good part is I have everything I had with cable. See ya!🫡

  8. Excellent overview of the evolving landscape! I’m particularly interested to see how these services address the need for more customizable channel packages and improved picture quality, especially on larger 4K TVs.

  9. Michael, have you or can you do a review or recommendation for an actual ROKU TV. An advantages over other smart tv’s
    THANK YOU

  10. I’m a Dtv stream guy. Best dvr. Best interface. Regional sports. The remote/streaming box is #1. Buy it. I think used I got it for $50 on their site. Probably more now. Channel surf. This one is a pet peeve for me. 😆 only cable streaming app I know of I can channel surf on.

  11. i travel out of US and Hulu barely work w a VPN, its "temperamental" netflix does not need a vpn but its so expensive. you tube is great even without a VPN. Tubi somewhat temperamental. peacock does NOT work at all w VPN. any ideas of other streaming companies, no need to be live that work with Express VPN? thank you !!!

  12. First off you need to remember that no one really knows what the future holds for dish or sling tv. From what I’m been hearing on sling tv it’s not very good. People have said that sling tv constantly buffers and freezes. I wouldn’t hold my breath on sling tv. I would look elsewhere then sling tv since the future doesn’t look very bright for.either dish or sling tv. As far as Hulu live tv goes the price might be high but you get 3 services in one when compared to YouTube TV. Youtube tv price is just as high as anyone else. I would say stay with your current live tv streaming service unless your looking for a particular channel to watch because all live tv streaming services are expensive maybe even more expensive then cable now.

  13. Great video! It really highlights how quickly the landscape is changing. I hope these services continue to compete on price and features, maybe even moving towards more customizable channel packages in the future.

  14. Sling TV now offers an Unlimited DVR but expires after 9months. It no longer has the no expiration date for recordings but you get unlimited storage.

  15. YouTube is going up in price. We don’t watch sports. But we want network channels and being able tape shows

  16. I have cox communications probably the most expensive lineup according tonmy bill, of all the streaming providers which would you say comes close to what cox offers.
    Thanks

  17. Thanks for watching! If you found this video helpful, please share it with a friend who is new to cutting the cord.

  18. YouTube TV is awful for Live viewing. I took advantage of the 1 month free to watch the College and NFL playoffs. Constantly freezing. Im talking about all the time. Its unwatchable. Stay away for the money they want its not worth it. Stay away.

  19. Why are we even paying for TV services. Every channel has more commercials then program viewing and the networks are making billions of dollars from commercial advertisers. The original concept of cable TV, which was originally pay TV provided cable programming with no commercials.

  20. Really appreciate the comprehensive overview! It’s tough keeping up with all the changes and price hikes, hopefully 2025 brings better value and more flexible options. I’m especially curious to see if anyone cracks the code on truly à la carte channel selection.

  21. This is a great overview! I’m curious to see how these services evolve, especially in terms of offering truly à la carte options and improving picture quality for live sports broadcasts on larger 4K screens.

  22. I think YouTube is smoking some good drugs because they are charging $995.88 for a year subscription which is unbelievable it’s crazy That company has to be doing some drugs

  23. Really insightful look ahead! The biggest hurdle for many, myself included, is overcoming the perceived picture quality downgrade compared to traditional cable, especially for live sports on larger 4K TVs. Hoping these services prioritize improving that aspect in the coming year.

  24. Thanks for the info. I am in Canada. Wish someone who would do the same for Canadian options. I am looking to leave Bell Canada but can not find a way to still get MSNBC which I watch frequently.

  25. I didn’t find this helpful at all. Why the obsession with "regional sports programs?" Couldn’t you have said a few words about the services that offer ad-free plans??

  26. I had YouTube Tv but canceled it when they dropped MLB channel and raised prices. I use Prime Video with MLB and NBA channels. I’m good. I also have Samsung’s live channels for free. I do miss ESPN.

  27. Just watched you video on t-mobile home internet. Had the service for over a year. Only problem is it will not power my printer and security cameras. Do you have any recommendations? I’ve called customer service and they are clueless. Thanks for any info you can provide. Also, I’ve move to all parts of my house!!

  28. Youtube tv is up to 99.99 a month since this video. And they dropped Comedy Central and added nothing but trash.

  29. Please sort the services by ease of contacting help. It took me an hour to find Google chat help last year. This year, I gave up after spending an hour hunting for that chat. It’s much easier to cancel.

  30. Really appreciate the deep dive! Customization is definitely the key; hopefully, we’ll see more flexible channel packages and add-on options in the future to truly tailor the experience to individual viewers.

  31. I had Sling TV for years for the price. The app is terrible. I had YouTube TV years ago for a few months, gave it up because the app was terrible. I hoped YouTube would fix the app.I’m in a free 21-day trial and will keep it. This app is nothing like the old one. I really like it.

  32. Great breakdown! It’s helpful to see all the options laid out, especially with prices constantly changing. Hopefully, the trend moves toward more customizable packages so we can truly pay for only what we watch.

  33. Super useful info for an abused cable box customer…

Wouldn’t it be great if there were an app that would take your preferred channels and create a mix of options that would include them, noting any that are not available? Better yet, why isn’t some group offering a "build your own channel lineup" with recording, etc, so we pay for only what we want?
