How to Buy DRM free ebooks and read them on any e-Reader – Kindle / Kobo

Swedish ebooks that you can buy online doesn’t use DRM protection. They use Watermarks instead. In this tutorial I show you how to buy DRM Free ebooks from the Bokus web Bookstore here in Sweden, and then modify and convert them in Calibre to be used for Kindle and Kobo ebook readers. In the video I use the Amazon Kindle Basic and the Kobo Clara 2e. Please note that some English books has DRM protection so always look after what protection the book has before buying it.

  1. This is extremely helpful, thank you + subscribed
I don’t yet have an ereader, but one of the reasons I’m considering getting one is to be able to read more Swedish books in the future – I’m not fluent & last time I visited I bought a stack of lättläst books + it’s good to know I can get some more in ebook form, as shipping to Australia is very expensive & there’s little market to buy them locally.
I’m thinking of a kobo but have time to make up my mind
(I could have written this in Swedish but I’m a bit rusty from lack of practice)

  2. Thanks for this.

Do you know of a way to download books bought from Amazon and be able to read them on my Kobo..? I no longer have a Kindle type device.
I do have a PC, Windows.

    Thanks.

  3. At this moment, Kindle already accepts the EPUB format. Buying the ebook in EPUB format in another store outside of Amazon protected by ADE, downloading the ebook to the MAC, and then transferring it to KINDLE, it is still necessary to use CALIBRE. thanks.

  4. Interesting alternative to DRM, I guess the only downside is someone could hack your account and spread the copies around

  5. Hello. Thank you for showing Calibre. I am very curious to find out which "add ins" (add ons?) you are using after that you have added (you do mention some of them in the movie). But it would be easier if you put them in your comments. By the way thank you for showing all these e-book movies in the past, too.
