I currently have three laptops but only one gaming laptop a Tuf F17 which seems to have a broken GPU. I want to replace it entirely with something that excells at gaming and I don’t care about sreen size. I want something with great cooling, and upgradable parts and hopefully in a sub $2K range. It will be on external power and displat as well as input devices. I could care less about how thick it is if cooling is better. What are my options?

My asus tuf a17 with a rtx 4060 I payed 1700 euros with windows in Croatia. Also that MSI GP68 is 3800 euros here,ridicolous.

@jarrod Did you tested G16 extensively? Read these are terrible, loud and throttling like crazy. I assumed Dell makes decent stuff. Having option to buy one for decent price. I would plan to undervolt and restrict wattage with Notebook FanControl as I did on my HP Zbook (undervolting is not allowed unfortunatelly).

Wish Intel’s ARC 140V was more available in some entry level gaming laptops. I primarily game on my Xbox SX, and love it, but I want to set up a simulator and play American Trucking Simulator on the highest settings at 1080p on a budget. Nvidia’s Geforce Now doesn’t support the logitec wheels so that’s out… 👎🏼
What are you talking about? I live in the USA and every single thing you’ve listed is over double the prices you’re claiming. I dunno where you got these prices from lol
So far my bad experiences with gaming laptops have been dell and Acer all lasted about 2-3 years. And ironically all the MSI laptops have been great to me. That being said I don’t leave the house often with them and I HDMI out to a 4K display. The 3050 laptop I got at launch and it’s around 4 years old and running great. And the 4070 I have is about 2 years old with no issues. Guess time will only tell. My absolute favorite is Asus ROG Strix line of laptops but they’re a bit higher in price. I got my Strix 2070 super laptop back in 2020 and no issues whatsoever.
What’s your choice in between Lenovo Legion 7i and Asus Rog strix g18 by overall performance and why? Or do you recommend any other products?

does US prices contain VAT and TAXes? This look waaaaay to cheap, in Europe all of these are at least 1.5 to 2 times more expensive, but of course with VAT included.

Хочу купить себе игровой ноутбук со "средним" железом и разрешением экрана FHD (но готов рассмотреть и 2к).
В выборе колеблюсь между следующими моделями (выбираю в плане стабильности работы, эстетики и цены):
– MSI Sword 17hx (рассматриваю егт в первую очередь. При прочих равных очень нравится подсветка клавы);
– Lenovo Legion 5/7 или pro 5/7 (многие советуют, но в плане эстетики для меня не лидер);
– Acer Predator Helios (ничего про него не знаю, но его хвалил один "комповик", которому доверяю);
– Gigabyte Aorus 17 (bkf/bsf/9kf) (советуют за охлаждение);
– Asus Rog Strix g16/g18 (17 не рассматриваю, т.к. стираются клавиши);
– молодые производители (Machenike, Thunderobot, OSiO, dream machine) – как вариант по цене (но не уверен в этом).
Можно ли остановиться на MSI Sword 17hx в плане охлада, долговечности и стабильной работы (драйверов и пр.)???
Либо лучше выбрать что-то другое?

Just got my HP Victus for $500 on a store sale! Happy to see it at the beginning of your list. I don’t game much so this was perfect for me
I nearly bought an 18 inch 4090 behemoth (either the MSI Raider A18 or a refurb Dell Alienware 18m), when I realized just how big the thing was. I have to travel a bit too much for it unfortunately, though I think those two have the best cooling, build quality and longevity of the top tier laptops. I ended up instead getting a Lenovo Legion Pro 7i (after considering that and the Eluktronics HydrOC 16). It was a tough choice and I’m glad it’s over 😂
I got a hp pavillion gaming 15z-ec200 at a pawnshop for 220 bucks and had no issues then i just bought and put 32 gigs of non ec ram

Picked up a used Lenovo legion pro 7i gen 8(13900hx and rtx 4080) for around 1650$ here in Sweden, add 1000$ if you manage to find a new/demo one. Sending in my MSI Raider GE78HX 13VI on warranty repair(issues with the cooling) and didn’t feel like being without a computer for a the time the warranty service takes…
