I must be missing the point of using these layer 2 solutions if you’re going to have to interact with the main chain eventually to withdraw your assets, thus paying crazy gas fees anyway. Is it more a proof of concept for when more apps come on board, or is there other utility im missing?

F* me this network is f* dead lol we don’t need second bitcoin… I wanted to try some NFT game first I bought enj token worth of 10£ when try to send it to wallet network fee was half of it and was not able do it ok I was thinking let try eth and the story was the same 20% transfer fee
I would use an L2, but until there’s a proper direct onboarding solution, I’m not going to bother. Paying eth gas to move over is a no go at this point.

Thanks Guy for the tutorial… saving this to test out the other options. I have many small alt coins I would like to liquidate or swap over, but the Gas fee is more than the coins are worth.
On optimism as of today claims take 1week (which is fine) and … 250$ based on gas fees. So if you’re not moving more than 10k USD (for a 2.5% fee) best stay away from L1, L2 or whatever is associated with the ETH blockchain.

Why would you want to send them back to layer 1 and not keep the assets in layer 2?
