The best way to save is to buy NON American streaming…example: BritBox around 100$ a year…VPN sellers say you could access them from anywhere if it’s true….there are many others NON American offering….also a lot cheaper than US companies offering…
I get YT tv for football. That’s it. The second the Super Bowl ends, I cancel it.
I have an indoor antenna for local channels and Prime Video because we were already Amazon Prime members. There is enough free content on the FAST (Free Ad Supported Streaming) channels.
You also have to add in the cost of your internet to your streaming costs.
Don’t they have a deal if you use visible phone and Verizon home internet?
I think this year I’m dropping comcast cable and keeping only internet through comcast. Will be looking at Youtube tv, direct tv stream, hulu live tv due to news, sports and locals. All three of those will still be $100 cheaper than comcast. I was thinking of going strictly antenna + a few streaming services but I knew in my gut I wouldn’t be happy with just that. But always open for suggestions
I’m in in the $0 a month because I got an antenna for the local channels 😊
With sling tv can you stream from two tvs different locations at the same time? I didn’t like how when tubi had the superbowl on, you couldn’t access a few things like your saved content.
Man, we need PlutoTV in Puerto Rico. AFN Now don’t work either. 😭😭😭
Hi Michael, Did you ever try looking into Supermax tv box the newest one is s6? Thanks Bob
I just want Hgtv, magnolia networks and the Tennis channel!!! I already have Amazon prime!
All i used for my apps: Netflix 4k plan, Hulu Disney Plus (no ads) Amazon Prime (no ads), Apple TV Plus, Tubi and Pluto TV. I watch my content on my Samsung Galaxy S24 and Samsung 32 M7 UHD 4k monitor and Apple TV 4k
I got that hbo Hulu Disney bundle plan no ads an Netflix an Amazon prime no ads an stars
I got tablo ota antenna dvr and l get 111 channels including abc nbc and cbs and fox
I suspect that many people with a “cable 2.0” service would be very happy with an antenna and a selection of on-demand services.
Why don’t you ever use YOUTUBE as a main option. There are more shows to watch then Pluto ,Tubi, and Netflix combined.
What the ____ is Cable 2.0 bundle? I just did a search and didn’t find it. Also, babbling about sports packages neglects the four major over the air networks: CBS, NBC, Fox, ABC. At least 80% of NFL games are on them. All major sports conclude on them including MLB and NBA. You can’t beat "cable TV". Try changing "channels" with streaming. You can’t record and replay fast forwarding through commercials. "Live TV" isn’t. Streaming sucks. And it lacks a physical remote with keypad. It’s a mess. For sports we need the big four, TBS, TNT ESPN. That’s minimum. The simplest way to get them is "cable TV". These reviewers need to wake up.
Some of us are outside of a metro area and we can’t have an outdoor antenna in our community, so we need "cable 2.0" which currently is YTTV. Still getting it at the $73/mo price, and will suspend it in June and maybe start up again Labor Day weekend when college football comes back. Awaiting news of the ESPN streamer and what it will cost.
If you use a Mohu antennae for locals do you have to buy one for each TV in your house?
I have tubi, Plex, freevee, and the Vizio app..all are free and have good TV shows and movies.
You are ignoring taxes and fees in your price quotes. I paid $90.42 for YouTube TV last month, NOT $82.99.
Not counting the shopping subscription I’m in the 50 or less. I have Max, Disney+, and Hulu no ad bundle which is $30/m. I also have Prime Video from Amazon Prime but I pay for that annually and got Paramount+ from Walmart last year when there was a deal for 1 year of Walmart+ for $50.
The most I use is Max and Paramount. Once my Walmart+ goes out this year I’m going to patiently wait for another 1 year for $50 plan again. But so far my bundle is all I need.
I don’t live in a location where antennas are possible. I’m wondering what the best option is to get a Cable 2.0 service with local network channels for news, etc; but sports aren’t necessary. So basically entertainment and locals.
I got the Black Friday deal on Hulu and Disney plus with ads $2.99 a month
I’m at $0 per month, get way more than I have time to watch with a TV antenna, and Prime video
Currently, I am only paying for Verizon FIOS Fiber Internet for $115/month 1GB. No streaming services at the moment, using free services. I might re-subscribe back to SLING Tv blue and maybe paramount + with showtime to watch Dexter: Original Sin. I also used to subscribe to Philo to try them out. I quite enjoyed it 🙂 Thanks Michael, as always for the amazing information!!! 😎
My under $40 paid TV package is:. Antenna + Disney+-HULU-MAX bundle + NETFLIX with ads.
I don’t mind ads but even I can’t bear the amount and placement of ads in the. "Hulu with ads plan".
My YouTube tv cheaper since I did that retention offer
I have an antenna,Philo grandfathered to 19.99 and Hulu basic. With all the free streaming services, and YT,you have endless hours of entertainment. My biggest expense is Comcast Unlimited Internet at 127 a month but with a gamer in the house, unlimited is a necessity.
Sling just had a price increase and now I’m paying almost $63 a month just for the blue pack with news.
Michael I think you might do well with jailbreaking a firestick. I use an app called Cinema & it’s basically every on demand streaming service (Apple TV, Netflix, Hulu, Etc) all in one for free. Great way to save money.
It’s pretty easy to jailbreak (plenty of YouTube vids how to do it). I’ve been using this since 2017 for all my streaming content & have got a bunch of my friends on it. Now I’m just looking for a cheap live tv alternative.
I use too subscribe to Fubo it was $109.00 a month. Kept it for a year and canceled. I do like Sling free stream and split the cost of premium apps. I use too play $240.00 for cable for 5 years. Just think of it would have invested that money in the stock market.
Waiting for Fox stand alone it might be a game changer for me
I think I’m definitely going to pause my Youtube TV service until Football season starts up again. I’ll use the Live TV option from Paramount+ as my local tv for news.
$40 a month for streaming with an antenna. It’s the internet that’s the killer now!
The thing is look for deals, especially during Black Friday.
My Internet service is down to $67/mo. I lowered the speed and it’s unnoticable. Adding streaming adds up so fast
Great video. You covered a lot. Thank you!
There is one difference between a previous cable bill of $100/month and a streaming bill of $100/month that no one discusses. Before the cable tv company didn’t care if you were watching the dribble they fed you, they got paid the same whether you watched or not, as there was no competition. The streaming companies compete for your attention and with each other for your attention and as a benefit of that competition, the quality of the product and shows has increased tremendously. We are offered not a continuous dribble of old shows but many new cutting edge shows, a wide variety of subjects with each streaming company asking for feedback as to what you liked, or didn’t.
They care because if they don’t keep your attention their competition will be happy to do so. That is $100/month better spent!
I canceled my Discovery+ it went to Max because everything on discovery is on Max
Disney plus hulu and max bundle for $30 a month
You get what you pay for. I had sling for years and the app sucks. I finally went with YouTube TV. I tried it years ago, the app sucked. This app version is awesome.
I suspended YouTube tv till July. Didn’t cancel because I didn’t want to set up the channel lineup again. I watch mostly YouTube premium which averages out to around $12 a month. Also use Prime, Pluto, and when some of the new seasons for Foundation and For All Mankind come out, I’ll start up Apple +. Might try Philo or Sling blue. Not sure yet. I have no interest in local channels.
Could use your help. We just cut the cable that was 300 a month. We purchased the new updated Amazon Fire stick. How can we watch News Nation live. We used to watch it on week nights at 10. Which is Banfield. Just don’t know how to get it live. Do we have to pay to watch it live? Thanks for your help!
I cancelled Spectrum cable and they offered me $5 a month streaming for a year with their internet service. They came out to take my cable equipment and hook up my new modem and router. Then told me I can’t stream through spectrum because I don’t have a Samsung TV, I have an LG.
I modified my bedroom TV setup to get CBS local OTA with TBS & TNT on Sling Orange. Also includes FOX local OTA and ESPN 1&2. I’m ready for March college hoops. I’m so happy I’m replacing my cheap Fire TV with a Samsung TV, hoping Sling will run faster.
I pay $21.98 for Max & Paramount + 4.99 month 50% off deal. 16.99 for Max. I get Peacock for free with my internet. 7.99 value.I use Tubi Pluto Roku, Youtube has legal free movies, just go to Free with Ads. Use Brave Browser with AB no ads. I am not willing to pay more than 30.00 a month on streaming . I tried Max w/ads its not tolerable, I use to get Max free til AT&T decided to start charging for this reward. So I canceled AT&T started using Visible this saved me 125.00 a month . I want to thank you for Info.
Under $15 per month for me..if you add internet $50 total.
I get YouTube tv for most of the reasons you mentioned.
-Local stations
-Sports programming
-News
I want all of this and it’s the only way I can get what I want.
None of these other services give me anything close to what I want.
Honestly, if money wasn’t an issue, I would still have cable.
How about IPTV Smarters pro you get everything but movies even ppv for 5 dollars amonth
my wife made me buy the Hulu premium plan because she hates having to change shit on the tv
If the sports package My sports package directtv comes with ESPN plus, now that’s a deal for 80 bucks. 👍
