  1. Another point if you buy the hardback you can resell it when you are old and grey to get cash. You cannot sell that ebook. Amazon has it. So that makes us the chumps.

  2. I love First Reads! I also signed up for the daily deals for kindle books. It’s my favorite thing to read with my morning coffee!

  3. When reading on my new Kindle I would like to know how do I turn to a certain page? Say I’m on page 120 and want to go to page 145 how do I get there? Do I have to turn page by page until I get there or is there a faster way?

  4. Hi Dylan
Thank you for this video. It is very helpful. Do you know any web site like these that offer books in FRENCH? It is my first language and I’ld like to read some French books from author that I already know?
Beside that , your videos helped me getting along with my Kindle .
    Bye
    Allen

  5. I’m also a fan of BookBub and Daily Kindle Deals/Kindle First Reads. Thanks for sharing your other favorite free & cheap digital book sites! 📚 When I first started using a Kindle (it was their 2nd Gen), all the books were priced at $9.99 which was nice, but I don’t recall them offering free or discounted prices at that time (I could be wrong 😏). Guess we have to take the good with the bad. 🤓

  6. I have noticed that as well and it is irritating. I love books… but I am 56 and have TONS of books and i hate moving them. I have culled several.. not cause I didn’t like them but because I am getting older, have no kids and if I ever move again.. I just decided I didn’t want to just move them. THey take up space and while I still love physically opening a book (which yes, is a thing)… I do use my kindle more for convenience I am VERY selective about what books I choose to buy. Mostly reference or non fiction… or books I know I will return to. If I see a book I am interested in .. I first see if my library has it.. and get it that way… then I will see if I can find a used thrift copy somewhere… that has saved some money … For instance, I want to own RONNIE PONTIACs AMERICAN METAPHYSICAL RELIGION.. but my library does not carry it (I told them to order it) .. I may break down and buy it physically… it has only been out for a year…

  7. Hi
My library offers two apps, hoopa and overdrive. Both apps allow me to borrow any books for 21 days on my Kindle. Even the new releases!
    Very exciting and all free

  8. I get daily emails from eBookDaily Kindle Freebies, and I’ve found some of my new favorite series there! Sci-fi and fantasy books from authors I never would have looked for on my own but have ended up loving. Tons of new books every day. All genres. Always free. *Chef’s Kiss*

  9. I get a lot of my books from Netgalley right now….it’s free and all you have to do I review the book once you’re finished!!!

  10. I really enjoy your videos. I watched your video on the Amazon Kindle. Your review on the Amazon Kindle was really excellent. After watching your video,I ordered it and have been enjoying it since. Thanks for the awesome video review.

  11. Hi, I belong to a few mailing list groups where you tell them what type you like and get low price or free ebooks. I get them everyday. I also get books from ereaderiq. The Fussy Librarian, Freebooksy, Team Dango, Bookbub, Early Bird Books, Book Lemur, Book Raider, Robin Reads team. Freebooksy is the only one that is all free. Early Bird Books always has low price books and the last book is the only free one in each email.

  12. Oh Dylan. I’m so disappointed in Amazon after very kindly requesting ads be removed. I was told "policy is policy", pay $20 or suffer the ads.

  13. Dang how did I stumble upon this channel, subbed! Great stuff! I’ve also noticed that many of the newer kindle books are $30 or so, identical to the physical book cost. Smart to setup alerts with these services because you’re likely in the middle of a few books and can wait for a deal

  14. Nearly all my ebooks I download from the library.

Every couple of years I do the one month free kindle unlimited trial and download lots of books that catch my interest.

I also put books on my Amazon wish list and then buy them later when the price drops (i’m willing to wait a couple of years or more). The list is also a reminder of which books I’ve wanted. I’ll look at the list and then check the library to see if they’ve now got the book.

Pretty much the only books I now buy are reference books that I’ll use for work or for my side gigs/hobby. These are books that are too specific for libraries to obtain so only real choice is to buy them…which is fine as they’re really good quality and useful and even look good with detailed photos and diagrams.

  15. Hi Dylan,
Give Hello Books a go. You select the categories. They send out a separate email for each category on Fridays.

  16. I mostly get my books from Libby/Overdrive or at least I check there first before I purchase. I’ve had good luck with book bub and booksy in the past although I haven’t used them as much this year. I’ve used Prime Books which has some decent reads for prime users and no committment unlike kindle unlimited.

  17. I signed up for Book Bub years ago and have been really happy with it. They’ve introduced me to way more books than I could ever read.

I also like their audiobook division, Chirp Books. It’s a separate newsletter, and none of the books go down as far as free, but it’s a similar set-up, though all the audiobooks are bought through their store and are played with their app. ALL the audiobooks there, even the ones not in your email, are on some sort of a discount. I’ve been really happy with them, too.

  18. I’m watching this video about three months after you posted it, but I have to comment! I have downloaded hundreds of books from the Amazon Kindle store for FREE because that book is in the “public domain!” I LOVE the classics of English literature. Most books published before the 1920’s are in this category. Even readers who think they only like contemporary fiction might be happily surprised by diving into a classic book now and again! Thanks for your great reviews and critiques! ❤
