Seriously, where do all these cheap Windows 11 and Windows 10 OEM keys come from? Linus said that cd key seller websites may be getting their keys (indirectly) through credit card theft… is there any proof? I’ll lay it all out here. We will talk about the facts, the practices, the terms of service violations, and the shady sites you should avoid.

Also when I was working in the fed gov they would order 100’s of eather desktop or laptops each one came with a windows key. but the fed gov would purchase a corp key for all there computers so the ones that come with each computer are free to use.

With the way Microsoft is degrading windows😢by me paying for it they are ripping me off
also I never pay that much for a key, I pay less then $20.
stolen credit cards – those are refunded
so the only thing they are stealing from is those big corps that ruin the lives of their customers
Thank you, made me feel comfortable buying from them tbh, in the sense that im not getting scammed.
I’ve bought from these sites and I always feel dirty. Then again I feel dirty using windows and only do it to play a few games. Most of the time I run Linux.
Buy a razor, visit a hairdresser, get some plastic surgery and get yourself a job.
I always purchase my keys using PAYPAL !!!!! 🙂
Umm kek ksm activator
What happens if I format SSD or reinstall Windows. Well I still be able to reactivate same Windows OEM Key from Whokeys or I have to purchase another one?
my guess is they want the nerds to be comfortable with Windows so that it will continue to be the business norm. Get the money from the businesses.
Yeah, paying full retail price is just a bonus for Microsoft. They make their real money by harvesting all of our data and that’s their main goal. Get everybody on board at any cost.
No matter what you do rather you pay for it buy it cheaper pirate don’t play it you will never please these people, just ignoring them will concur all.
FOUND A SITE THAT SELLS WIN KEYS FOR 5.99
I’ve had Office keys “turned off”, but they were cheap enough that buying a new key (that could also potentially be “turned off”) still kept us ahead of the curve compared to the annual fee (and now that MS has cranked that price up I feel even more confident with continuing this practice).
microsoft activation scripts. enough said.
i ain’t paying tinyflaccid, inc for the privilege of spying on me and stealing my data.
I just activate via cmd
I don’t understand why Microsoft doesn’t just make Windows free already if they want so bad to keep people on it.
As a kid, I hacked games. As adult, I bought cheap keys. As developer, I bought licenses. As oldie, I buy computers with OEM licensees. The latter pays for me. If I know, I don’t need them, I replace the disk with a clean disk and sell the other as OEM to my friends. This saves me a good amount of money and people are happy, especially with M.2 NVMe drives.
dont care. still buying grey market games. I have not paid full price for a game this year. game prices keep going up ima keep using regional pricing and key sites. If your game is really good i might buy the soundtrack on vinyl, might buy some merch, might spend a couple hundred on the destiny 2 boots.
Lol I’m enjoying my mak key lol 🤣 for windows enterprise over 500 rearms
I use linux so like many…
LTT being ignorant and irresponsible. What a surprise!
Windows 11 pro retail at partner microsoft HypestKey, because retail possible reactivate again if change pc.
That wholesale site you showed (selling 500 keys for $950) also sells retail Windows 10/11 Pro keys for like ~$10, I bought it quite a long time ago, even had to call Microsoft to reactivate via the phone once (because I forgot to link it to my Microsoft account before switching computers and formatting the old one, oops), and it does seem to be actual retail instead of OEM (but they could also be MSDN Retail).
Working in IT since the early 2000s I never needed to buy a Windows key, I worked for local education IT support dept and we had a volume license key which was used on all of the 10000 or so PCs we had spread out across the whole region. MS and my bosses were never gonna know that a few extras were used on my machines and my friends. But the PCs also used to come with a OEM key on the sticker and back in the days of XP and vista we would make a note of the keys when we were installing 30 new PCs and then sell them on ebay and such for a few quid each.
Later I when 7 cam around I discovered OEM royalty keys and SLIC activation through the BIOS so used to use a tool which would patch most BIOS with a HP key so that Windows would activate even if the PC was not online as if it had been activated by the OEM at the factory. You can still use that technique today if you want to activate Win 7 inside a VM with an OEM version.
For me, anything Linus says is b.s. Ever since he’s been revealed to be such whore for clicks and would even ignore one of his employees dealing with harrassment and not testing products truthfully. How people are still following them blows me away!
The problem. I never get to own my PC game anymore. So I don’t care about the developer loosing money
It’s gross to think that way…
The only reason windows still costs something is the OEMs would pitch a fit if they gave it away for free. Microsoft does not care about end users getting it for cheap or free. They only care abut OEMs and Enterprise paying the big contracts.
i just bought a key from pc games key and it didn’t work is that because its a doggy key or could there be another reason?
Kinguin is probably one of the “bad” keysellers but I’ve never gotten a bad key from them. Once made the mistake of buying from Pixelkeys and received nigerian prince style scam emails for few months straight. Thankfully I was using a spam email created just for these shady sites.
They grow on Oemen trees.
Great upload dude I love the cut of your jib old Bill has got more money than any human should have .
Linus is a big tech shill now.
Be careful: The Linus fanbois will swarm you with LTT screwdrivers in their hands.
Hi, are you still using the same VPN?
Wouldn’t it be possibly short-sighted for a M$ dev genuinely trying to make a living as a M$ dev to sell off his MSDN dev keys? Even if nobody’s been publicly outed or punished ever before? Because the TOS terms. Am curious not judging.
Likewise, lots of SMEs have MAK keys but what about TOS?
7:00 — overseas arbitrage probably ok. I gotta find tools you referenced for checking locale of origin
I like this video, thank you, like like like
Well, that market also help Microsoft prevent having people ultimately having to jump on Linux, Microsoft whatever little Microsoft receive from those methods they receive more than Linux also so there is that into the equation.
Lol I hope that CC info was fake and not your actual info
microsoftprokey
I’m glad I sidestep this whole confusing issue of questionably legit keys by always pirating Windows.
Is this site still legit just had to get a new Mobo and lost access to the keys
I got a Windows 8 key from one of these sites forget which one, but after 5months the key became invalidated.
while i am not looking to buy at the moment, this is the first time i am willing to consider buying the discount. I always worried about them being illegal. i will keep Whokeys in mind when i do. thank you for the details.
I suspect Microsoft has done a careful internal review of the situation and determined it better serves their interests just to let it be.
I got my key at cjs cd keys
this was great thank you very much. really liked it
