gaming laptops have to be one of the worst investments one can make, at least the budget options with xx60 gpus tend to age horribly
rtx 4060 mobile has 140w tgp on many laptop models. What are they thinking putting the max power limit 100w – 80w for 5060. At this point the 4060 may just perform better if we dont count frame gen

Had the 2025 Acer Helios Neo 16 AI but had to return it because it runs extremely hot! Games kept crashing. The 2025 Neo laptops still have the 5th gen cooling fans from the previous models so its not really an upgrade. Acer claims the new gen 6 fans that are on the 2025 NON Neo models cool better. Ill test it once they are available to purchase.
Yeah thanks to the outrageous prices and 8gb I switched from gaming laptops to a desktop and steam deck. Built a 4070 super pc and got an OLED deck for the price of a 12 gb laptop
Ah, I misunderstood your title: I was expecting "Best Gaming Laptops" to mean RTX 5080m-5090m & AMD HX3D CPUs.

There is absolutely no point in buying a gaming laptop with anything less han 10 GB of VRAM. The 5070 Ti is the best "fps for buck" and also has the best Wattage scaling out of the entire RTX 50- series. 5080 and 5090 are of course more powerful (with worse wattage scaling), but the price spike from one model onto another is a lot. I am planning on buying a new laptop in a month or two tops and I am looking around for a decent 5080 under 3,2K € but it’s tough. On one hand, the new fad of implementing LPDDR5 RAMs into laptops is imo a great choice, since no components are replaceable anyways, so why not go "full soldered in" for that extra speed. On the other, I hate the fact most laptops nowadays are all 16 inch with 16:10 layout. I much rather prefer 17 inch with 16:9 but those are very quickly becoming a thing of the past.
Wonder if the 4p cores on triton will bottleneck it. Curious to see performance review!

im deciding what laptop to get for gaming when away from hime, and hving a 8gb gpu is no issue to me:) it will still play everything i play agt high settings and last me for many many many years

I find it interesting that for some reason the Alienware Area 51 laptops are being ignored by some reviewers.
I’m writing this because I own the 16 inch rtx 5080, and it is the most beautiful machine I owned in the past 24 years and
performance is top notch in all areas.
Oddly enough I bought it as a replacement for a 10 month old Asus Rog Strix rtx 4080, which ran well until it decided not to run at all and now is shoved somewhere in our closet.
Meanwhile, my Alienware M18 R1, continues to perform like a champ, even though it does run pretty hot. The point is , it is still running.
I don’t know if ignoring Alienware is part of some kind of reviewer snobbery, but I think it’s unfortunate especially because this is an exceptionally lovely product.
