Sony just did the something last year
My premium expires next month and I’m downgrading to the essential tier just to play online. No point in paying more when I play less overall now
I canceled my plus subscription maybe 2 months ago. On top of not playing online too much anymore, the value of it has just been "not worth it" for me overall (their "free" game downloads have been disappointing in recent months).
Overall, gaming as a whole isn’t what it used to be for me, and I’m holding the greed and laziness of the industry itself largely responsible.
This is why I play F2P games so I don’t even have to pay the Essential membership anymore to play online
If i have to reply on subscriptions service for games i would buy Xbox because they just added metaphor this month a masterpiece that is only 8 month old something ps plus dont do at all and will never do hell they are not even including masterpiece games from 2023 yet ffs

I had a timing system with ps plus, when black friday sales rolls my sub expires, so i snag the sub at discount. But because the auto 5 day plus they gave due to the hack idk if i got it anymore💀🥲
JFC. This is some BS. Back in the good old days you got game demos for free. Now you have to pay a subscription fee to get "game trials". This industry has fallen so far. Nothing but a industry of glorified criminals.

I am a very very loyal sony customer but i have never bought ps plus 1 time scince i booked 1 year premium when it launched. It was just a rip off. I have bought the classics like jak sly ape escape on the store because i hate subscriptions. If i want to play online wich does not happen often i play on my steam deck. I prefer discs anyway.

I let my PlayStation Plus subscription go last year. Most people only play one or two games online because that’s all you have time for. And I LOVE playing me some Helldivers 2, but I can’t justify basically always renting access to a game I already purchased, it’s crazy. I am totally fine with playing The First Descendant or POE2 if I want some online gameplay.
The most shady part to me is that when PSNetwork recently went down they added days to everyone’s subscriptions knowing that would push a lot of subscription expiration dates so they can’t buy a renewal during the sales window. I now expire 5 days after the sale ends because they added days. I would have been able to get the sale price if they didn’t add days. Anti consumer behavior for sure.
If my extra goes out before the end of days of play i should still get 25% for extra right?
Surprisingly I remember back in February when I was just going to downgrade to the plus membership and not the premium, I seen that they had offered me a deal where the premium was cheaper than the Plus at 95 dollars, which was really weird and I was like well whatever

My PSN subscription runs out in nov. Then I move on to Xbox. Fuck Sony, PS+ Extra is utter crap for what they charge.

I complain about this generation. There are so many ps5 games, graphically could be on PS4. You’re really only like a dozen next gen games worth playing. But not worth the price of a PS5. That crab game has Nintendo switch graphics and a cartoonish look. The most greatest generation ever. I wish the industry would crash for a year.

was going to resub for a year to playstation but just found theres no discount for existing users, guess I won’t buy one then, between price hikes crappy monthly games, and getting a nice pc I feel theres no reason to sub anymore for 80 dollars I barely even use the online anymore I figure Ill spend the 10 bucks during the times I do want to use it lol

Here is a thing u never mentioned in some countries u can actually extend specially in my country india many times i have been able to extend my ps plus extra by doing little extra work no illegally involved either but i just sont care anymore because it’s value is shit and even discount price is not worth it

JUST BUY A PC, much better and the amount of games you can play on PC is 10 times as big. And you don’t need the PSN 80 dollars a year. It is a savings all the way around!
