Same f……. Bullshit !
You should make another video like this but on 2024 please
It would be good to see an updated video on this.
I hear people say all the time to change out the Thermo paste. So, I tried and broke the damn thing. Intel Heatsink CPU Fastener Mount Pins for Intel Cooling Fan. I clean the new paste off and carry the computer back up town. We only have one computer shop. The guy takes one look at it and plays on his computer and looks at mine. After about 5 min. He says he can fix my computer for $150. And he was serious. I said No, that is OK. I went home and looked online. Found a Brand-New Heat Sink, Fan with paste for $12. Also, those mount pins for about $1 ea. I would have thought a computer shop would have some old computers for parts. I had lots of old lawn mowers for parts when I worked on them. Now I am SOL now that everything is going electric. I know I do not want to spend more money than I have to. And $12 is not so bad and easier to let go of than $150.
i learned my lesson by upgrading from a ryzen 5 5500 to a ryzen 7 3700x because as much as i would love to keep this new cpu, i just found out that the ryzen 5 5600x gets way more fps
you need 32 gb of memory if you want to play in simulator games and minecraft and such to high levels
I think Jay should make a short 5-10 minute video listing all the good brands of each of these parts and why that’s the case as well as listing the ones that aren’t worth the price or are just bad.
And make it every 6 months to a year.
edit: 5-10, not 50-10, haha

Hello there, 16GB of RAM is not enough today, 3 years later. I am not able to play Space Engineers with mods (game from 2013) and have opened browser and Discord with it. Also Stable Diffusion is keeping my RAM at 90% of usage.
would a 7 5700x & rx 7800 xt be a good combo
I3 10100f is better than amd
try playing a Minecraft 1.19 modpack with 16GB of memory lol
Don’t do what I did and buy a motherboard that only supports previous years, so if I want to upgrade my cpu, I need a mobo too lmao
I’m gonna buy a new PC this month. I’ll let a company build it ‘plug and play’ for me this time. Going with the 5600x, RX 7600 and 32 gb of 3200mhz ram. More than enough to last me throughout the year while I save money for a high end system. I don’t need fancy screens, 1080p is enough for me. As long as games don’t look like Half Life, I’m happy. HL games are amazing though, just saying, especially the 2nd.
Hey I’ve been following your channel for a while now and I want to build my first pc. I’m on a budget so is AliExpress a good place to get some parts? I saw a really good deal on a Maxsun B550.
CLICK BAIT!!! I WANTED TO KNOW THE WAY TO SAVE MONEY NOTHING..! ELSE…!!
another common way people spend too much money is buying everything new, buying used parts can save you a ton of money just make sure the parts is still in good condition
I could argue the use for the 32gb of ram on a gaming PC.
It’s 2024 now, but I built my PC in 2020.
If you’re a Minecraft player I’d highly recommend getting 32gb of ram. Especially if you’re the type who likes to add mods. It definitely gave me a better experience.
I doubt anyone is going to reply to this comment, but its March 6 2024… 3 years after this video was posted. The RTX 40 serries "SUPERs" were just released last month and I though I would go back and watch old GPU videos on predictions and prices. Now that mining is over, stay at home workers has decreased since covid, and GPU supply is easily found on the shelves its amazing what we can buy today for price to performance than when this video was made!
So for everyone considering on sticking with 16GB of ram you should take into consideration of you are only using your PC for 1 thing at a time. What I mean is I run multi monitor and typically have multiple apps running 2 -3 of them. I work from home so am often also connected up to my company’s services. I run 128GB of ram because all of those extra uses chew up that ram fairly easily. If you DON’T have anything running outside of the game you are playing then 16GB is still enough. Note that even just running Wallpaper Engine should be enough to go to 32GB on multi monitor.
Do these tips still apply in 2023?
A little bit late:
How to save money:
Step 1: Down buy Rog products
Me with 128GB RAM just cause it was three digits🗿
well 16gb ram is just a couple of bucks away from the 8gb ram it would not hurt to have a little bit more
Can you update the video please? it could be helpful to make references to the newer products (i need help XD)
l’m looking for a 1440p high settings/ultra gaming pc for upcoming 2024 and next couple of years to last me but l don’t wanna overspend, any suggestions on cpu and gpu ?
Is 16GB RAM still the sweet spot in 2024?
Regarding the need for 32GB of RAM, have you tried loading the original Cities: Skylines with 100+ mods? Pushes my memory usage to over 20GB
I read that a RTX 3070 or RX6600 were the highest GPU to buy for my Ryzen 3900X, without "bottlenecking risk". Is it fake informations ?
Such an amazingly straightforward and informative video. Could you please make an update to this for 2023 please.
See we are just wasting money on games and pc components that lacks sense these days and the VFX and gaming industry going down with more cost cuts and job losses what’s the use of building a high end pc..???
This upgrading is never gonna end
Yeah my list is way over built 😂 my list was like $1300 bucks and all the games I play are like 2015 and older lmao
is 16gb ram still ok for 2025?
Apparently r5 7500f works well with 7900xt, if you are using a 3440×1440 screen. Also 7500f is easy to boost to 7600x level.
I have been burned by AMD too many times in the past with their promises of great cpu’s and always regrated not going intel so I will never ever buy AMD again so long as I live.
Love this channel it’s like one of those "things your dad should have told you" channels but for buuilding pcs
I have a setup that has 64 gigs of RAM, but I have it because I am a programmer and my PC is for all of my tasks
Rust @1440p ultra settings uses 27gb ram FYI but yeah most ppl do ok @16gb
"nobody needs more than 32GB of ram"
*cries in cities skylines.*
So what Cpu Gpu combo should I go with now in 2024
2 years later im still holding back my upgrade because in the last two years mid range CPU and GPU raised in prices….
That’s not how you keep alive the market.
update video plz
maxxed out memory because it is where i see the most improvement from my photography set up
I’d still recommend 32GBs of RAM just cause Windows 11 eats so fucking much by itself.
Even just 24GBs should be enough to game without issue.
I might not NEED 32gb of RAM, but I do like being able to just load an entire Minecraft server, along with a modded client at once for the fun of it
Kinda disagree on the GPU…
Main thing is there are so many expansion slots like the sata port, the usb port, audio port, lan port to expand your pc which requires lower band width but 99% users only plug in a gigantic GPU, a high core CPU and a ram kit with an SSD and start to game..😢😢
Most of the slots are always empty
Has this aged like milk? I think this aged like milk.
Haven’t watched the video yet but man has the gaming scope changed so much in these 4-5 years. CPU is absolutely pivotal.
Yep as i was typing this sure enough he says games dont utilize all cores….Pretty clear in 2025 that just isn’t the case.
CPU is pretty much more important than anything else at this point. You could get buy on a freaking 2060-2070 card right now vs a 4060+ with a mid range CPU.
