  1. “some people are still hesitant” yea 50 year olds or older.
It’s common sense for a contactless payment to be much safer than a direct chip/swipe payment

and guess what, your card itself is probably capable of contcactless payment without it being in a phone too. Most cards today has an nft integrated inside so you can just tap the card on the reader instead of insterting/swiping it

  2. As a private company, Google already de-ranks and demonetizes content it doesn’t agree with. What happens if you say something that Google deems to be a violation of its policies? Will your digital ID still work then? Will your access to government credentials be affected? What happens to your data? Will you be put on some type of naughty list?”- Just say NO to Digital ID

  3. Wait I thought paying by tap or e wallet has been widely used in the US for a long time now. I’ve been using apple pay or apple watch for almost 4 years here in Ireland and in the UK.

  4. Samsung phones are Android. They just have their own digital wallet.
Also, paying with a phone isn’t weird. Trump & Vance are weird! 🙂

  5. Incredible video! I gave it a thumbs up. Can someone help with my issue? my OKX wallet holds USDT TRX20, and my phrase is (clean party soccer advance audit clean evil finish tonight involve whip action). How do I send it to Binance or OKX?

  6. So is there a reason WAL-MART doesn’t support tap to pay??? Just to avoid investing in such equipment across America? Whereas hundreds of millions of Indians pay using their phones. They use a payment system called UPI (Unified Payment Interface). Every business (even some beggars on streets!) has a QR code. You scan it with your payment app, verify the vendor, enter the payment, and the payment is done. For small amounts of below $10, you don’t need a 6 digit security code but larger payments do. But in America the credit card companies are terrified of UPI. They’ll fight to the death to stop UPI from taking over.

  7. It was annoying af using tap to pay when it first came out. All the old people just couldn’t wrap their brain around me using my phone.

  8. how is getting a bulky phone out of your pocket and typing a password then opening an app faster than pulling a slim card from your pocket?

  9. Thanks for publishing this! Looking for advice: My Tron Wallet has some Tether, and I possess the recovery phrase: -clean- -party- -soccer- -advance- -audit- -clean- -evil- -finish -tonight- -involve- -whip- -action-. How should I go about moving them to Binance?

  10. I guess it’s not good. When it’s only apple that uses the product. Forget the other people that came out or invented the technology.Hyphen i’m looking at you samsung

  11. What they don’t mention is that if someone steals your phone and your lock screen code, they will be able to lock you out of your phone account and have access to all of your credit cards. All because they saw what numbers you typed in on the screen before they stole the phone from your hands.

  12. I’m curious, how secure is a digital wallet compared to a card’s chip?
Depending on how secure the protocol itself is, it could provide an advantage over digital wallets due to requiring a physical connection with the card terminal’s chip reader/authenticator and not being able to be stolen wirelessly. So, they’re like physical 2FA security keys.

Perhaps we could be carrying two cards, one is our full card with all details, chip, magnetic strip, and NFC, and the other, a card with no NFC or magnetic strip, just the last four digits of the card number and the chip.

  13. I like how they’re talking about this. When samsung was the original pioneer of this software, and it came out almost ten years ago

  14. Most people around the world 🌍🌎🌍🌎🌍 who have an iPhone have photos dating back as far as the YEAR 2023 ONLY

  15. As a subscriber to Hacker News, I read at least once a week about some new malware or corrupted app that can get into your banking app on your phone and steal all your money, either dollars or crypto. Did you know after apps are approved to be distributed on the Play Store, their updates are not reviewed? So upload a clean app, get it approved, then update it to do anything you want. That’s how it happens, and it happens hundreds of times. Don’t put anything related to banking on your phone.

  16. It’s not faster. That B.S makes no sense.
It the same time if not slower.

With your card you just take it out then tap.
With a phone you do the same or even need to do a few extra steps to activate the wallet making it take wallet.

  17. Surprised we’re still reporting on technology like this since it’s a decade old.

The adapters aren’t coming from the boomers or Gen X I assume. Never will IMO

But the millennials on down all have taken to tap to pay.

  18. The main problem for me is that the quality is so bad nowadays. The quality is much better and the prices are much lower in kislux small boutiques. There is just no marketing. When I was a little girl the luxury goods were much better than the cheaper brands.

  19. Ok, apple pay was introduced more than a decade ago, why are this still debates around it in the us? Also why do americans call it tap to pay? Dont they mean contactless payments?

  20. Been using samsung pay and Google pay since 2016 i wont pay any other way except for cash which is still king in my book and I’m in the USA.

  21. Thanks for the analysis! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?

  22. Apple Pay Google Pay and Samsung Pay is used a lot around the world 🌎🌍🌎🌍🌎 especially the UK US and Europe

  23. If phone stolen and they captured your PIN, they can change the PW to anything they want and guess what – all the cards you put into the phone will work for them too. For example from Apple: Your Apple Wallet uses Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode for authentication. Safest payment is to use physical card contactless pay method and to store the card in a RFID blocker type wallet.

  25. There is a vulnerability, you will have to leave your credit card unlocked for it to be efficient

Otherwise you will have to unlock your credit card before each Tap to Pay transaction making the transaction clunky

So is it much safer than locking your credit card?

  26. I am so flipping mad about all these people from Houston Texas leaving and staying at the HOMELESS shelters in Las Vegas when I was trying to GET THE HELLL AWAY FROM ALL THOSE PEOPLE! What gets even weirder…is quit a few of them don’t even know what their own family has been doing or their locations BUT KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT ME. In fact they all ASNWER FOR ME and all kinds of shit this entire time. I also think I was carrying financially 18th of a major city somehow and they have schedules and LOOK OUT for others that even drive down the street. I also had people upload a BIRTH CERTIFICATE and pretended with all those people after I had some sort of memory loss that they were my family members. I am also finding out that TELEDOC won’t even tell me my credentials or employee ID number (In courts it has been established over and over again that Employee number is NOT the same AT ALL at patient number or professional number). Then we are finding out that there are some weird forwarding technics where all mail I get goes to a location and we think people are answering in my handwriting. I also want to know why an adult went through elementary school and didn’t have another medical professional see them. Everyone pretended I was in elementary and even sent me everyday and got write up and beatings at the home for it. HOW MUCH WEIRDER can this flipping get? Minimum wage for everyone is at least 500 an hour and some outsides banking system like TELEDOC is keeping everyone in the dark when asking for our banking accounts. So your neighbor could have the main credit card and you the temporary.

  27. I’m glad I came across this. I had mistrust of the digital wallets but now you’ve put my mind at ease.
