EZ. Office chairs are always better.
"Youre stupid for buying a $200 chair, you should have bought this chair for the price of a used car instead"
ive always used executive leather office chairs for the fact that they hold more weight, they are generally more comfortable (thick padding), and i do alot more than just gaming which means i can lounge.
i absolutely hate gaming chairs because they are so hard and have little to no cushion. especially the arm rests.
also noticed none of these executive office chairs are mentioned in this video.
Cool story bro. Every friend i had on, who works in the office environment, when they sit in my secretlab titan chair, it blows their mind how good it is. But i had couple of chairs from other companies, they werent even close as good.
Gaming chair: Look good
Office chair (ergonomic one): Fell good
Dude, the entire "gaming" products industry is almost exclusively a scam
I agree with everything here. All my friends’ gaming chairs are constantly poking into me and have literally never been a pleasurable sitting experience. Meanwhile even the most basic office chair is fine and comfy and allows me plenty of movement to fidget and swivel
I only go for executive style office chairs. I’m a 6′ tall dude, so just medium-tall, but it’s literally for the reason you mentioned about sitting "in" a chair. I change positions frequently, and spend very little time sitting in the position ergonomic chairs encourage.
03:00 What’s the Name of that Chair pls? looks good.
I am a gamer and i have one of those cheap-ish ergonomic amazon chair. Super comfy and have nice support. No need for an uber chair
ones meant for comfort, the other is meant to look cool
Unpopular opinion, but I genuinely hate office chairs. I find gaming chairs to be far more comfortable for me, while on the other hand I find office chairs to have so many problems that make sitting for long periods of time almost painful. I have tried Herman Miller chairs, and those are one of the worst I have tried, I have tried a few other brands, though I don’t know exactly which ones because just whatever ones we have at work. Typically the plastic rim around the edge of the office chairs presses into my legs and cuts off circulation after a few minutes of sitting, and the back of the chair is not even remotely close to anything natural, so I always feel like my back is being bent into a U shape. I can usually sit in a gaming chair for 15 hours a day without issue, but can’t sit in an office chair for more than 20-30 minutes without moving around and constantly adjusting my position
Secret Labs Titan Evo is great for the price if you get the lower back cushion and the reclining is great if you have a cushioned foot rest under the desk at home like I do and you’re listening to video essays or guided meditations and you want to get comfortable but not fall asleep. In the three years I’ve had mine I found it is better for laid back gaming with a controller or movie sessions than keyboard and mouse in my opinion, the more vertical your backrest is the more uncomfortable the chair gets so I’m grateful to have an adjustable standing desk when either sitting or standing gets tiring.
I only tried gaming chair from my brother
And thank god that happened because i was thinking itโs stupid and bad, so that clear to me that I hate it because itโs stupid and bad.
Thank you
When i was gonna spend money on a chair for my pc I did a ton of research on chairs and never even thought of getting a "gaming" chairs they just look like giant car seats for kids. I ended up with a very nice chair that was a carbon copy of a super expensive chair known for its ergonomics.
my experience so far: had a beautiful buafallo leather chair for a decade. changed to a gaming racer SUPER PLUS LUXURY chair..
And i catch myself sitting like a goblin in that gaming chair..
next one will be a fine office chair again for sure.
Somewhat disagree here. Yes, in the ultra-budget segment, you’re better off with an office chair. However (in EU market), at the pricepoint of secretlabs, you’re not getting that much more in an office chair – truly superior office chairs are often double the price. Furthermore, expanding on usecases – secretlabs have very well padded and firm seats, which suits my bony ass. The inflexibility and bracing of the chair really helps when you’re someone who as you say likes to put their feet up – and when I’m in my own space relaxing I like to throw my positions around.
No doubt the flexible office chairs you mention are far superior to someone who is locked into their chair all day long every day – i.e. an office worker – but that’s why they are _office_ chairs.
Lastly, vast majority of office related back pain would easily be fixed if people just got off their lazy arses after work and worked out to strengthen their core. Martial arts, gym, whatever – get out there and move! A high quality office chair is not an excuse to continue a detrimental sedentary lifestyle!
So like, which is the best chair if money is no object? the blue one at the beginning?
Thank you for this video. I hate it and everything it’s taught me.
I moved to an office chair recently. My old gaming chair was a racing-style one, like the ones discussed in the video. The flared sides often scrunched my shoulders in, as my shoulders are fairly broad. The lumbar pillow was indeed entirely useless, and my overall back health had deteriorated from using it for so long. My new office mesh chair has been a lot more comfortable, and gives more freedom of movement.
Anything marketed for "gamers" is not meant to be a good product, its meant to look cool for you and your 14 y/o gamer friends. I have never seen a person that uses a computer proffesionaly use LED gamer shit, well except esports but thats just a big commercial for products to begin with.
I tried both, gaming chairs are hella uncomfortable. I have tried expensive and cheap they are all shit
Nothing like a nice comfy office chair
I am a woman
Nothing can compare to my Serta managers chair.
The heck do you mean "Low end $300" that is hella expensive.
if you play fps games. you should use a gaming chair that is stiff and does not bend, as the bend in the chair will mess up your aim, as you are anchoring off of your back and feet. a loose back seat will throw that anchoring way off …if you gaming, i wouldn’t listen to a guy that sells office chairs …
Great video, thank you for sharing
To be fair, having tried both a bunch of 300-500โฌ office chairs, and my Secretlab Titan (2020), I would not swap. In fact, I even tried the Hermann-Miller Aeron with all of the options (yep, really) and hated the way my bum felt on it. I always had a really bad time with the office chairs, I really prefer the hard cushion on the Titan, and once I got the lumbar support right, it’s always been the only chair I’ve felt actually comfortable in. And while I understand the reasoning, I would still not consider swapping my chair for anything (except maybe a Titan Evo) especially since the upgrades are all over 1000โฌ.
Gamers: buy "racing" chairs with holes for racing harnesses and really good side support
Also gamers: play WoW
HAHAHAHA 500$ KEKW
Gaming chairs tend to be lower build and material quality as well, had a friend that went through 3 gaming chairs in 4 years due to just parts failing. With all of them the upholstery on the seat started to tear after 6 months of use, one broke the bar that controlled the seat tilt, one had its right side arm rest sheared off and one had the joints that connected the back to the seat snapped.
What kind of lunatic pays 500 bucks for a chair worth 150 at most?
Yep I can confirm it Wagner and Herman Miller are so much better than the Gaming chairs and today I found out that my office chair back moves with my back never really thought about it.
If anything has written "gaming" on it, it is most likely just marketing and rgb but offers no additional value whatsoever. Usually you just pay more for I dunno, fashion?
Iโm just gonna answer solely on aesthetic. Office chairs. Gaming chairs are hideous and can completely ruin the feng shui of a room.
As a bigger/taller person, those overly flexible design features (also the gaming recline option) sound like asking for the chair to break…
I’m sure they’re great for below average height/smaller target audiences… But I’m guessing most will cap out their max weight points pretty fast unless you pay a ton extra.
I never liked gaming chairs. They are overly stiff, uncomfortable to sit in and look silly. Most of my friends swear by them. I bought a leather executive style chair. Basically a lazyboy on wheels. Absolutely love it.
Gaming chairs: For performance and looks
Office chairs: For comfort and longevity
I know this is a year old, but I wanted to add that really expensive office chairs are often easy to find lightly used for cheap. I got a chair that’s msrp was about 1200 and I got it for 120 through a office supply resale site. It’s boring grey/black but I dont care what it looks like as long as it’s comfy.
I have a gaming chair right now but my next one is definitely going to be a mesh chair.
I cant stand those fixed armrests; they only go up/down, and it’s never low enough.
The best armrests are the ones with a 90ยช rotation, so you pull them back when not needing them. This is important especially on gaming, when you use a gamepad and dont want your elbows to bump into the armrests all the time.
Sadly the chair options with those armrests seem to be the minority. Mine has almost 10 years and I don’t find any other model with those.
The true tragedy is the prices

For a week I was sleeping at a friend’s place on her couch. After that week, my back was killing me. After that week, back at home and at work, with both places having ergonomic office chairs, my back problems vanished almost on the first day. This is similar to how I see fashion. Brands that are just expensive because they look that way are always worse than brands that are expensive because they fulfill a purpose without the flashy design.
Expensive office chair > Cheap gaming chair
Expensive gaming chair > Cheap office chair
I’m a gamer who came to the same realization that just getting the most economical and ergonomic office chair I wanted was the best option for me. I also did want all the weird color and bucket seats most gaming chairs were going for.
I game in an office chair that I bought over 25 years ago. *shrug*
basically gaming chairs are great for neets and egirls
"military grade" and "gaming" are all shit. I am a veteran that games a lot
I bought an armchair for my PC at home. It was a 5th of the price of the best office chair I could find near me (which converted would be around $200), and it has like 2 times the comfort. The materials aren’t the most durable so I had to exchange the legs, which is still better than the office chair that broke completely down in less than a year, and I can spend much more time in it without feeling sore.
I never want to get near a gaming chair.
