3. Micro Center lowered several of their AMD motherboard packages in the last couple of weeks. I wonder if that had anything to do with Amazon Prime Day. Also solid supply chain analysis on the GPU’s. I wonder if AMD will increase output to capture more market share. I am hoping Intel keeps up with their bang for buck cards as well.

9. OLED makes games better. I was playing on a 1080p tv, now I have a 1440p oled, and it’s like going from PS3 to PS4.

11. It’s possible to get QD-OLED 240 Hz monitor through Asus Rog Swift for example (I got it New for cheaper through eBay). I’m more of a hybrid person on competitive and single player gaming.

13. AMD could’ve easily win over customers if their Radeon department had some tips from the Ryzen one. These last launch should’ve been like this:

    High/Ultra settings. Fps avg. depends of game of course. Please tell me that this could’ve made more sense:

    – Rx 9050 XT 8GB or 12GB: $200-$250 1080p 60-65 fps. For 2k gaming gotta use some FSR.

    The closest one to this is Intel with the B580 WITH 12GB!, if Intel gets their thing on they might become the best entry level/budget gaming GPU. Hope they get better at this.

    – Rx 9060 XT 16GB: $350 1080p avg 80-100 fps; 2k 60fps in most of the games

    Take the 9060 XT 8gb and set it on fire. No more 8gb GPUs above 250-300 USD. The current 9060XT 16GB its pretty good for its money, but the fake MSRPs have done so much damage already.

    – Rx 9070 XT 16GB: $500 2k 80-90fps; 4k gaming avg 60fps

    Besides the MSRP issue, again AMD never misses a chance to miss a chance. $50 between the XT and the non-XT to upsell the XT (Rx 7900XT and 7900XTX flashbacks). They say they are different from Nvidia, but they always resort to some greedy tactics. The should’ve called the non-XT, the XT and put it at its real price at $500. Take your time and make the 9070 XT the real 9080 XT with a bit more power.

    – Rx 9080 XT 20GB: $650-700 4k avg 90-100+fps

    Flasgship RX, they said that they won’t do a 4090 or 5090. But they still could try a higher end GPU with a possible Rx 9090XT 24GB

    On the other hand, did AMD fucked up their GPU nomeclature ? i mean are they going for a Rx 10060/10070/10080 XT next time ? Ryzen has it much better if they go for 10000 series and 11000 series. Imagine Ryzen 5 11600x or Ryzen 7 11800X3D. Maybe they take one 0 from it and it goes like 1160 or 1180X3D.

    Ps: Love your content, i am trying to get some part to build my first PC this year, but prices here in Argentina are always between 30%-50% higher becausae of tariffs and companies that bring them here and want like 30-40% income margins from selling them. Ex: 9070 XT in newegg 700-750 USD, here in Argentina 900-1000 USD.

First of all I doubt you’re going to see any deals for any gpus that people want so the 5080 5090😂 nobody wants 60 class cards nobody wants 9060 XTS or 5060s😂 I hate when morons like this try to act like GPU prices are dropping and like gpus are selling at MSRP no they’re not the cards that people want are still grossly overpriced 5080 5090 Stowe grossly overpriced the only cards that are going for MSRP are cards nobody wants nobody wants a 9060 XT no one wants a 5060 the GPU Market is not healing do yourself a favor don’t buy a GPU right now wait a year be patient right now 50/80 and 50/90 are sitting on shelves at Newegg nobody’s buying them wait until the price drops down to about 10 percent over MSRP

32. Primeday is pretty underwhelming in Denmark, and I tend not to use Amazon if it can be avoided anyway, so not particularly excited.
    PC is holding up very well and I’m currently playing CIV V anyway, so it’s not really stretching it’s legs.

35. I got a 5080 Aorus master ice for $1600 last month an been very satisfied with that purchase. It was hefty and woulda been nice to get one at msrp but everytime I’ve wanted to buy one everyone says “price is too high so wait for a better deal” I been waiting like 3 years. Finally said screw that, I’m getting what I want. Overpriced ; underpriced, affordable for me is affordable for me an I’m so glad I did. Incredible upgrade from my 4070ti super for gaming on my Samsung odyssey. I get a gorgeous view and my wife got an upgrade from her 4060 to the 4070 ti super I was running. Buy what you want folks, make a plan, stick to da plan, enjoy your new hardware! Happy gaming.

AMD 100% pulled a bait and switch with the 9070XT, offer just a few models at MSRP, then when those sell quickly they say well those are gone but here are all these others that are $200 above what we said they would cost. This is textbook bait and switch. AMD had an opportunity to crush the market and be the good guys, but they are just as scummy as Nvidia.

38. In regards to OLED burn in, it depends how long you expect to continue using the display. If you have lots of money and go out and buy a new one every 3-4 years or sooner than it isn’t going to be a problem. If you are the type of user that keeps a display for 5-10 years than you will certainly end up seeing the uneven wear.

    as someone who’s been holding out hope for a prime-day or other deal to pop up for the ryzen 7 9700x, i have to admit this 9600x price is very tempting, even without the SSD. and especially so as someone looking primarily at single thread performance for MMOs (WoW/FF14/etc.).
    would you still recommend the (arguably small) downgrade with the 9600x against odds of any upcoming deal with worthwhile savings on the 9700x?

49. What are your thoughts on the rumored 9080 XT / 9090 XT? Are they true?

    Would it be better to hold off getting the 9070 XT or RTX 5070 Ti? I’m seeing some people regretting their decisions on these cards because of these "upcoming" GPUs.
    I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this.
